Personal Care Homes

People age 18 or older who need assistance with their care such as bathing, getting in and out of chairs, taking medications, preparing meals, and doing laundry - may benefit from receiving care in a Personal Care Home.  If a person meets the appropriate level of care requirements and is financially eligible, they may receive funding to help pay for their care.

The Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare licenses Personal Care Homes in Pennsylvania.  Personal Care Homes may have as few as three residents or may be licensed to care for a large number of people.
