Foster Grandparent Program

Make a difference in a child's life...

As a Foster Grandparent, you can make a difference in the life of a child with special needs by serving as their "Grandma" or "Grandpa" in places such as Head Start Centers, schools or day care facilities.

To be a Foster Grandparent you must:

  • be 55 years of age or older
  • meet income guidelines
  • pass a physical and criminal background check, and
  • be available to serve a minimum of 5 hours per week

Foster Grandparents receive a tax-free monetary reimbursement and other benefits for their help.

The Foster Grandparent Program is funded in part by the Corporation of National Community Service, the United Way of Bradford County, the Susquehanna County United Way, and the Lycoming County United Way serving Wellsboro and southern Tioga County; and is sponsored by the B/S/S/T Area Agency on Aging, Inc.
